Meningitis Angels was
founded in memory of Ryan Wayne Milley, only child of Bob and
Frankie Milley. Ryan died at the age of 18 from meningococcal
meningitis. Today it is one of the largest meningitis
organizations in the world.
Ryan did not live in a college dorm.
Meningitis does not stop at the dorm room door. ACIP/CDC
recommends all tweens and teens from ages 11-18 be vaccinated
against meningitis.

Angels Lead Texas Advocacy to Require Meningitis Immunizations
for 7th Grade Entry.
Frankie
Milley, after the death of her son Ryan, has led the meningitis
advocacy in Texas and around the US since 2001 for both meningococcal and
pneumococcal meningitis. With Angels Leslie and Harley at
her side, in Texas from the beginning and in the recent years Joan Vasbinder after the loss of her son Vincent, they have managed
to help create some of the strongest policy on meningitis and

A sweet moment at the
Angel Conference. Two Angels who lost sisters to meningitis.
Kylie's
sister, Jane was 22, in college and told she did
not need to be vaccinated against meningococcal
meningitis because she did not live in the dorm.
She should have been vaccinated. Meningitis does
not stop at the dorm room door.
Victoria lost her older sister Abby to
pneumococcal meningitis at the age of 14 months.
Angels collected books and donated money in
memory of little Abby for a Children's Hospital
Library.
We received this note from the CEO.
On behalf of Medical City Children's Hospital
as well as Will and Mary Kearney, we would like
to thank you for your contribution to Abby's
Book Corner. With your support, we were able to
collect over 4,000 children's books and raise
enough money to open a children's library at
Medical City Children's Hospital. This is a
wonderful gift that will bring a smile to our
patients. |
