Brittany Gwyer
Born June, 20,1980~Heaven Bound on November 5,1985.
My angel's name is Brittany.
She was 5 years old at the time of her death.
Brittany was without a doubt the most sweet, beautiful, loving little girl in the world.
On the evening of 11/3, she said she had a headache and went to bed early. Later in the evening I went to check on her and she just doesn't seem like herself. She always had "talking eyes" and that evening they looked distant and empty to me. She was running a temperature as well. I took her to the local emergency room, against my husband's wishes, but I just had a feeling that something wasn't right. On the way there, she told me that she couldn't see. When we got to the hospital, they said they weren't equipped to take care of such a "sick child." They did, however, do a spinal tap on her. We went by ambulance to the bigger hospital. On route, she went into respiratory failure. I couldn't believe this was happening. I thought maybe she had an upper respiratory infection. She had been perfectly fine. Once arriving, the Chief Pediatrician said, he wanted to send her to a major hospital by ambulance. He thought she might have meningitis. upon arriving at this hospital, she was in a coma. This is all within a matter of hours. I called my husband, who was home with her younger daughter, Courtney, who was 3. I told him to get here right away. Brittany was brain dead on EEG. I didn't believe them. I made them repeat this test 2 or 3 more times. She was on a respirator.
She was gone from us. She died on Tuesday, Nov. 5th, 1985. Time has not healed this emptiness.
Her younger sister recently got married. She wanted something of her sister's to be with her on her wedding day. She wore Brittany's favorite thing, her name on a baby bracelet. Please pray for my angel, Brittany who I miss more and more everyday.
