Prayers
for Johnny

The Rest of Johnny's Mom's Prayer
Please send your prayers high and often. Whatever opportunities you have to help with the war effort - letter writing, sending things like deodorant, soap, candy, ANYTHING - I sincerely beg you to send at all opportunities. These people are going to be in intense danger at times and of course at other times may be bored to tears. But they will be around the world from their family, when most of them already feel like they are around the world from their families while still in the USA, and they are facing a fierce dangerous enemy.
Pray for confusion in the enemy's plan, which would in turn cause their plan to fail, and result in victory over the world-wide terrorist acts we have seen for all these years.
I have been terrified for as long as I can remember - since before I was 12 years old - of having a son go to war. I think I can HONESTLY say for most of my adult life it was my biggest fear and now we are there. I am facing it, trying to be brave, but spend a lot of time crying and begging for prayers from everybody I know. I believe in the power of prayer - seen it work so many times. But, God's will will be done, whether it is the same thing we would have asked for or not, His will will be done. There are always sacrifices in war and though I am definitely not prepared for what I believe to be my ultimate sacrifice, I am prepared to sacrifice the safety of my son to the calling of our great nation in this war, which at least this time IS OUR WAR.
A lot of people feel this is unprovoked and they are entitled to their opinions and I will not argue with them. But, whether or not we should go to war is not the issue of my post here - the issue is that our men and women who ARE going to war for our country are taking a huge risk and need your prayers and all the encouragement you can give them. Contacting organizations such as the VFW & American Legion can help you find ways that you can help the war effort, making their lives out there more tolerable and anonymous support has got to be heart-warming. I mean, when you receive a gift of even a pack of soap and clean wash clothes from somebody you don't even know, wouldn't that make you feel special? It would me, I think. Never having had it happen, I can only guess. But...well. You get my drift.
PRAY...PRAY...PRAY...PRAY and when you get done with that, pray some more. I keep you all in my prayers every single day for the challenges you face with the loss of either your children/spouses/brothers and sisters to meningitis, and for those who have survived it and are also surviving the horrible repercussions of it on a daily basis. You are courageous people who deserve that recognition from us as well as the Almighty, and you will get that when that time comes.
Thank you for hanging in there with me through this long request...but, feeling a bit desperate at this particular moment.
God Bless you all and your families, Laura
Dear Lord, we have seen much in the last few years. Many of us at Angels know the pain of losing a child.
I ask you tonight to watch over all of the children of moms around the world tonight. God let hem feel the hearts of their families back home. Some Father are cold, lonely and scared of what will happen next. As your word says in Psalms , Protect me from my enemy. Let the morning light bring me word of your unfailing love. Father I ask your Light, Love and Peace to fall upon the earth, all soldiers from around the world, our leaders and tonight Lord I ask you to especially watch over Johnny.
