Hello Angels...

My best friend sister's infant (2 month old) brother, Dustin has
bacterial Meningitis. He is currently in the hospital. I have no
information on his condition. Please say a prayer for him!

Please pray for my eye. It has been red the last few days and now it's getting hard for me to see out of it. It is the same eye I had a transplant on last year and it is on my paralyzed side. So pray that it will get better to where I can see out of it and not go blind. Sherry

My aunt is in the hospital with lung cancer. She has never smoked, so it is not caused by that. She is not expected to live long, so pray for her healing. If it is her time to go, she is ready and will receive her ultimate healing. But pray God will make her breathing easy and peace for her and the family.

Next, as most of you know in 1999, Opal Jennings was kidnapped from her home in Saginaw Texas. Her family has not known where she has been since then. They have found some bones about 10 miles from her home along with some pink tennis shoes which was what Opal was wearing at the time of her kidnapping. Pray for the family as they finally may have closure.

Please pray for Archie Beeching who is suffering from meningitis and has been in a coma for several weeks.Thank you, Marion

Well, the meningitis is still haunting my son. Johnny will be having surgery on his left arm either December 5th or 18th. I am waiting to hear from the surgeon. It seems when he had the meningitis it stunted the growth of his Ulnar bone in his arm. The Radius bone is growing a lot more quickly than he ulnar bone. It is causing his wrist to turn inward and if we don't take care of it he may become paralyzed in his left arm. Of course that is the hand he writes with. The doctor is going to cut back the radius bone and hopefully the ulnar bone will start to catch up to the other bone. If not he may need bone length surgery on the ulnar. That is a very intense operation and very traumatic on the child. While Johnny is having this surgery he will also have the bone in his pointer finger taken back a bit because when he lost the tip of that finger the bone is starting to grow and is making the finger become pointy and the bone will eventually start to protrude through his finger. Hasn't my child had enough????? This will be about is 14th surgery since he was stricken with this horrific disease 5 years ago. Please pray for my baby (your Johnny Angel). Fran Colton, with meningitis, for complete healing. She went into hospital this morning. Symptoms are severe, with some kidney failure, problems with breathing, low blood pressure. Thanks for your prayer.

Angel Families, I'm asking for prayer, urgent prayer, for a little boy named Michael. He has H-Flu meningitis, but we're really not sure, I haven't talked to his Mom yet. He is 4 years old. His Mother Marie is a friend of the mother of a classmate of my daughter Carye, who remembered when Carye was ill. She called the school where Carye attends and asked the principal to contact me and has asked me to talk to her, just as someone who has walked in these particular shoes. Michael is doing better but will possibly be blind and deaf. His vision is fading in and out and his hearing is doing the same. The part of the brain most severely damaged controls his equilibrium and motor skills. This little one has a hard road ahead and his family does too, as you all know. Please pray that I can be of some use to his Mom, if nothing more than to be supportive and not let her give up. I'm not sure I'm up to this. I feel transported somehow back to those terrible days. I will get her in touch with you Frankie as soon as she is able to. She's at the hospital all the time right now. Pray for this little one and his family. Kate

Pray for the Lindsay Jerdo Family. Mel and Jason's baby is sick and Jason has been put on standby for the military and will most likely have to leave to go to the middle east. There are other needs in the family too. Please keep them all in your prayers.

My name is Kevin and I am Cassie's father.
Cassie's battle with meningitis has not ended. Cassie has developed a rare immune problem that makes her very susceptible to the bacteria that causes meningitis. Cassie is now a 3 time survivor of Meningococcemia. Unfortunately she is allergic to penicillin which is the most effective and least toxic antibiotic that can be used to protect her from this horrible disease. She has also been vaccinated but all three times she fell ill to a strain not covered by the vaccine. Cassie will turn 14 years old this Sunday and her life has been an endless battle to try and keep her life as normal as possible. But her health problems continue to plague her...especially in the winter months. All I am asking is that maybe say a prayer for her. We have done everything we can. I am asking for prayers upon prayers for our men and women in service in our country, and in the UK who are currently are backing the USA up in their war against terrorism and in the impending war with Iraq.

I have a son who is a paratrooper in the Army, who will probably be deployed as a ground troop in the very near future. I'm talking days or maybe a week or 2. He told me that he will be immediately following a particular deployment, that took place yesterday. So, sounds like now it will be his turn. He is ready to go, he expresses tremendous honor at the privilege to fight for our country, and to protect his family from terrorism. He is sincere about that too. I went to see him on base in September to make sure he was really OK after losing his wife to meningitis (see Angel Misty Ann) in April, and he is doing quite well and we had a very intense heart to heart.

PRAY...PRAY...PRAY...PRAY and when you get done with that, pray some more. I keep you all in my prayers every single day for the challenges you face with the loss of either your children/spouses/brothers and sisters to meningitis, and for those who have survived it and are also surviving the horrible repercussions of it on a daily basis. You are courageous people who deserve that recognition from us as well as the Almighty, and you will get that when that time comes. Thank you for hanging in there with me through this long request...but, feeling a bit desperate at this particular moment. God Bless you all and your families, Laura
