From Jennifer,  "I became involved with the Meningitis Angels organization in 2006 when my mom, Betsy, was hospitalized due to Meningitis.  She became sick suddenly, literally overnight, and never regained consciousness.  She passed away on October 27, 2006.  Since her passing, I have tried hard to educate myself, and others, on this horrible disease.  I have also done fundraising in order to help provide resources for increasing awareness.  Losing my mom was the most difficult experience of my life, but I know she would want me to move on and do something positive with the experience."
