Michelle knows firsthand about HPV. In 2004, she was diagnosed with VIN-III, a form of cervical cancer as a result of having HPV.It was soon after her diagnosis that she had a vision – to start her own foundation educating the public about HPV's relation to cervical cancer.

She moved from California to Washington, D.C. and

created her foundation the same year of her diagnosis.
